Liverpool show support to 'X Factor' contestant Christopher Maloney

Liverpool expressed their support to The X Factor contestant Christopher Maloney by playing one of his performances from the PA system over the weekend.

The Merseyside-born singer, who is currently competing in the ITV series, performed '(I Just) Died In Your Arms' by Cutting Crew on the show and it was played over the sound system at Anfield ahead of their 1-1 draw with Newcastle United on Sunday.

He has been criticised by viewers of the talent show, with some angered that he has continued to survive the public vote.

Maloney, who is being mentored by Take That star Gary Barlow, was originally voted into the competition as a wild card by the public.
