Man to appear in court for 'flying drone over Anfield'

A man is reportedly due to appear in court for allegedly breaking air navigation rules by flying a drone over numerous sites, including Liverpool's stadium Anfield.

A man is reportedly due to appear in court on allegations of flying drones over numerous locations, including Liverpool's stadium Anfield and Buckingham Palace.

Nigel Wilson, 42, has been accused of breaking 17 breaches in relation to the Air Navigation Order after allegedly flying a "small unmanned surveillance aircraft" over the likes of Anfield and the Queen Victoria Memorial.

According to ITV News, Scotland Yard has confirmed that the man, who is from Nottingham, will appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court.

In October last year, a flying drone was at the centre of a political stunt that caused a Euro 2016 qualifier between Serbia and Albania to be abandoned.
