Jamie Carragher banned from driving for six months for speeding

Carragher hit with driving ban

Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has been ordered to stay off the road for six months due to speeding.

The 35-year-old, who had previously denied driving over the 40mph limit, pleaded guilty at Sefton Magistrates Court this week after he was clocked speeding at 47mph.

Magistrates claimed that a six-month ban for the centre-back was "obligatory due to repeat offending", according to the Liverpool Daily Post.

The offence occurred on August 26 last year.
