Merseyside Police have confirmed that they are "investigating a serious assault" which occurred before Liverpool's Champions League clash with Roma on Tuesday night.
A Liverpool supporter was reportedly stabbed ahead of kickoff on Merseyside after a number of Roma fans approached the Albert pub near Anfield's Kop Stand.
Merseyside Police have now released a tweet asking for anyone with information to come forward.
We are investigating a serious assault of a man outside the Albert pub on Walton Breck Rd at about 7.35pm.
