The EFL announces which Championship fixtures will be televised over the Christmas and New Year period, with Aston Villa scheduled to feature three times.

The EFL has announced that three of Aston Villa's fixtures over the Christmas and New Year period will be televised on Sky Sports.

Between December 15 and January 13, the broadcaster will screen 10 matches in all, with Sheffield Wednesday's home encounter with Wolverhampton Wanderers kicking off the schedule.

However, Villa will be shown twice in the space of three days when they play Sheffield United and Brentford on December 23 and Boxing Day respectively, while the trip to Nottingham Forest on January 13 will also be televised.

Wolves' trip to Bristol City on December 30 will complete the year, with Leeds hosting Forest at Elland Road on New Year's Day.

Leeds's visit to Burton Albion will take place on Boxing Day - still with a 3pm kickoff - while Cardiff City's home matches with Hull City and Preston North End on December 16 and December 29 respectively will be shown live.

The remaining fixture sees Sheffield United and Sheffield Wednesday do battle at Bramall Lane on Friday, January 12.
