Mario Balotelli visits Christ the Redeemer ahead of Confederations Cup

AC Milan striker Mario Balotelli made a visit to Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro ahead of Italy's Confederations Cup opener against Mexico.

The 22-year-old was joined by national teammate Stephan El Shaarawy on the Corcovado mount in the city to marvel at the statue.

The former Manchester City frontman decided to take in the sights of the city before Italy's match on Sunday, which is followed by games against hosts Brazil and Japan.

Meanwhile, reports have claimed that Balotelli has proposed to girlfriend of six months Fanny Neguesha.
