Granada's Javi Marquez calls son 'Modric' after Real Madrid midfielder

Granada midfielder Javi Marquez has named his newborn son 'Modric' after Real Madrid's Luka Modric.

Marquez told Cadena COPE that he hugely respects the Croatian international as a footballer and also revealed that his wife "likes Modric very much", which contributed to the decision.

"My wife likes Modric very much. He's also a great player and person. For me, this is an anecdote," said Marquez. "If the name is accompanied by a great footballer, even better!"

Modric, 30, has represented Dinamo Zagreb, Tottenham Hotspur and latterly Real Madrid during a successful career to date.
