World Cup stadium in Brazil 'criticised by fans after opening'

World Cup stadium slammed by fans

A number of visitors to the opening of one of this summer's World Cup stadiums in Brazil have reportedly blasted the ground's condition.

With the tournament just a matter of months away, the Arena Amazonia in Manaus has been the subject of controversy after three people died on the site during construction.

According to the Daily Star, fans criticised the venue for having unfinished toilets and leaks in the roof of the arena.

Reports have also claimed that fans were sold tickets for seats that do not exist, and some were forced to wait for 30 minutes in queues to buy food.

England will play their first World Cup group game against Italy at the £174m stadium.
