Cook's wife 'gives birth to daughter'

England captain Alastair Cook and his wife Alice have reportedly become parents to a baby girl.

The 29-year-old has been amid the controversy surrounding the England and Wales Cricket Board's decision to drop Kevin Pietersen from the squad.

However, the Essex batsman can focus on matters off the field after his other half gave birth to the couple's first child this morning, according to All Out Cricket magazine.

Cook and Alice tied the knot back in 2011.
