Bill Root reveals that he used to enjoy winding up his brother Joe Root, who has been starring for England in the Ashes this summer.

The brother of England batsman Joe Root has given some insight into his relationship with his sibling.

Bill Root, who is 20 months younger than the 22-year-old opening batsman, has revealed that he used to "enjoy" teasing the Yorshireman, but has insisted that the pair have a strong bond.

"The scrapping does not happen anymore," Bill told the Daily Mail. "We are pretty close.

"I always started it. I used to enjoy winding him up all the time, just to annoy him. Pretty standard younger brother stuff."

Root is expected to be in the team for the third Ashes Test, which begins this Thursday at Old Trafford. England currently lead Australia 2-0 in the series.
