Easyjet eject 'drunken CSKA Moscow fans from flight'

Easyjet confirm that a flight carrying CSKA Moscow fans to Manchester was forced to land and eject a passenger following reports of drunken behaviour.

A flight heading for England carrying CSKA Moscow fans for Tuesday night's Champions League clash against Manchester City was forced to land in order to eject one passenger.

Easyjet have confirmed that a Russian football fan caused enough disruption to force the plane to land at the Copenhagen Airport in Denmark, while six passengers were not permitted to board the flight from Moscow.

According to the Manchester Evening News, one supporter, who had taken too much drink on board, began pushing staff during the flight to the North-West city.

A statement read: "easyJet can confirm that flight EZY1872 flying from Moscow Domodedovo to Manchester on November 3 diverted to Copenhagen airport due to the disruptive behaviour of a passenger on board. One passenger was immediately offloaded on arrival.

"Unfortunately, prior to takeoff, it was necessary for the captain to take the decision to offload a further six passengers. The aircraft then continued towards Manchester where it landed with a short delay."

The delay is said to have lasted one hour.
