Croatia defender fined £80,000 for opening beer can

Dinamo Zagreb have ordered defender Domagoj Vida to pay an £80,000 fine for opening a can of beer on the club coach.

Manager Ante Cacic immediately ordered the 23-year-old to leave the bus, which was en route to NK Vrsar for a domestic cup tie yesterday.

"The Dinamo management has decided to punish Vida, a Croatia international with 14 caps, with a financial penalty of €100,000 for his behaviour," read a statement on the club's official website.

Dinamo fined Brazilan-born midfielder Sammir €270,000 (£215,000) in August for partying in a Zagreb night club the night before their Champions League qualifier against Sheriff Tiraspol.
