Five men in court following Paris Metro racism row involving Chelsea fans

Five men facing football banning orders are due to appear in court today after a man was allegedly racially abused by Chelsea fans at a Paris Metro station.

Five men are appearing in court today facing football banning orders following an alleged racism incident that occurred on a Paris Metro involving Chelsea supporters.

Prior to Chelsea's 1-1 draw with Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League last month, a group of fans prevented a black man from boarding a train in France.

The supporters were filmed chanting, "we're racist, we're racist and that's the way we like it," in earshot of the man, who was later identified as Souleymane S.

Today, five men believed to be involved in the incident will attend Waltham Forest Magistrates' Court in North-East London.

Proceedings are due to get underway at 2pm.
