Bolton Wanderers' Stuart Holden announces engagement to girlfriend Karalyn West

Bolton Wanderers midfielder Stuart Holden has announced that his girlfriend Karalyn West accepted his marriage proposal.

The 28-year-old has not been having the best of times on the pitch, but it appears that his life away from the field is running smoothly after the midfielder revealed the news on Twitter.

The USA international posted a photo of the couple kissing, with the message: "In better news, excited to spend the rest of my life with you @KaralynWest."

Holden is expected to be sidelined for six to nine months following a setback from a string of injury woes.

The midfielder lasted just 23 minutes in a comeback Under-21 match last week.
