Bayern Munich midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger could have had a completely different career if he pursued skiing from a young age.

The German international is due to line up against Barcelona at Camp Nou on Wednesday in a bid to add to their 4-0 lead from the semi-final first leg of the Champions League.

However, Schweinsteiger could have been looking on from the stands at this week's fixture if he'd gone into professional skiing as he was a strong candidate at youth level, according to UEFA.com.

It is believed that the German could have represented his country in the sport.
