Police in Poland are investigating a claim of rape against the father of Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny.

The father of Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny has been arrested by Polish police on suspicion of rape.

Former player Maciej Szczesny, who now works as a goalkeeping coach, was held for two days as investigation into the incident took place.

Officers say that the allegation is being "carefully scrutinised".

The 48-year-old is the only footballer to win the Ekstraklasa, Poland's top division, with four different clubs.
