Arsenal's game against Manchester City goes ahead despite the discovery of a "suspect package" outside the Emirates Stadium earlier today.

Police have confirmed that they dealt with a "suspect package" outside the Emirates Stadium earlier today.

Arsenal's home ground was cordoned off for almost an hour, preventing fans from approaching the stadium ahead of the Gunners' game against Manchester City.

Officers gave the all-clear just before 3pm, allowing the match to go ahead.

It is understood that a bomb disposal team was called out, before the ruling that there was no threat to public safety.
