Banoffee pie and pizza are believed to be on the menu for a number of footballers to help boost energy levels.

Footballers are reportedly known to indulge in banoffee pie and pizza as part of their pre and post-match diets.

It was revealed this week by Liverpool and England full-back Glen Johnson that the Three Lions took sleeping tablets ahead of their rescheduled 1-1 draw with Poland on Wednesday.

While taking sleeping tablets and ProPlus is thought to be a normal process for modern footballers, it is believed that some Premier League clubs encourage their players to eat banoffee pie and pizza, according to The Mirror.

Reports have claimed that Arsenal players tuck in to banoffee pie ahead of their matches to bring up their energy levels, while another top-flight club orders pizza for the team after they have played.
