Argentine fans Google search for Javier Mascherano

Javier Mascherano has been the most Google-searched player in his native Argentina throughout the ongoing World Cup.

In the likes of the United Kingdom, Germany, Spain, the Netherlands, France, Italy and USA, Lionel Messi has been the most popular member of the Argentine squad.

However, in their homeland, it is former Liverpool midfielder Mascherano that has topped the charts, according to the search engine.

Both Mascherano and Messi are expected to start as Argentina go in search of a third World Cup trophy against Germany tomorrow evening.
