Lionel Messi met with Cristiano Ronaldo chants in Peru

Lionel Messi was greeted with chants for Cristiano Ronaldo as Argentina rolled into Peru for their World Cup qualifying campaign.

The current FIFA World Player of the Year was met with support for the Real Madrid star Ronaldo by the Peruvian fans as he exited the team bus in Lima.

Taunts of 'Ronaldo, Ronaldo' were reserved for Messi, whose name is usually echoed by fans around Europe as a gibe towards Ronaldo himself.

Argentina play Peru at Estadio de Nacional de Lima tonight.
