Balotelli: "I've never cared about politics"

AC Milan striker Mario Balotelli has admitted that he has no interest in politics, but believes that US president Barack Obama is a "great man".

The former Manchester City forward, who has experienced racism from fans during his football career, believes that it is an important for the world to have a black president.

"I've never cared about politics, but I think he is a great man," Balotelli told Sports Illustrated. "Obama can be like a new start for everybody. Just the fact that he's black and he's the first one."

Balotelli moved to AC Milan from City last summer.
