Yannick Weber cleared to play for Switzerland

Defenceman Yannick Weber has been cleared to join up with the Switzerland men's ice hockey team at the Winter Olympic Games in Sochi.

Weber suffered an undisclosed injury on Friday while playing for the Vancouver Canucks in the NHL.

He will join his countryman and teammate Raphael Diaz in the team.

The Canucks are yet to confirm whether or not Weber will play on Saturday against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
