England's Barry Middleton: 'We are capable of beating anyone'

England men's hockey captain Barry Middleton believes that his side are capable of beating anyone in the Commonwealth Games as they prepare for the semi-finals.

England men's hockey captain Barry Middleton believes that his side have to go into their Commonwealth Games semi-final clash with no fear even if they face Australia.

The Three Lions secured their place in the last four with a 3-1 victory over Canada earlier today, as Ashley Jackson scored twice and Middleton scored one himself to guide his side through.

"[Playing against Australia] should be fun, that's who you want to play in big tournaments. We have set our stall out over the last few years that we want to be in the big games and be in semi-finals.

"We are consistently making semi-finals with this group of players but we will go out there, give as good as we get and we have belief in the team that we can beat anyone on our day."

England will play their semi-final on Saturday.
