Norway edge out South Korea in semi-finals

Norway secure their place in the final of the women's handball competition with a 31-25 victory over South Korea.

Norway have secured a place in the gold medal match of the women's handball at the Olympics with a tight 31-25 victory over South Korea.

Despite conceding an early goal, the Scandinavians quickly put themselves in charge of the contest by attacking at pace against a clearly fragile Korean defence.

The Norwegians shared the goals between their forward players but Korea showed some good spirit late in the first period to reduce the lead to 18-15 heading into the break.

South Korea continued to press their opponents at the beginning of the second half but the match continued in the same fashion as the first 30 minutes.

Norway defended well in the final stages and were focused on not allowing the Koreans to go on a run of scoring without reply to book their place in the final.
