Whitlock, Fragapane lead World Championships squad

Commonwealth champions Max Whitlock and Claudia Fragapane have been named in Great Britain's squad for the upcoming World Championships in China.

Whitlock, who won two bronze medals at the 2012 Olympics, is joined by Nile Wilson, Kristian Thomas, Courtney Tulloch, Dan Keatings and Dan Purvis.

However, Sam Oldham misses out as he continues to recover from an ankle injury which he sustained at the Commonwealth Games, while pommel horse specialist Louis Smith is absent.

Meanwhile, Fragapane, who won four golds at this summer's Commonwealth Games, joins Olympians Becky Downie and Hannah Whelan in the women's team.

Ruby Harrold, Kelly Simm, Gabby Jupp and Charlie Fellows complete the women's lineup.

The Championships take place at the Guangxi Gymnasium from October 3.
