World number 1,048 Sattaya Supupramai has recorded a first-round 63 to establish a two-shot lead at the King's Cup in Thailand.

Supupramai hit eight birdies and dropped just one shot during a terrific opening 18 holes to move clear of a group of three players in second place.

Eddie Pepperell is currently leading the English charge after ending Thursday's play in a tie for 10th position, while compatriot John Parry is a shot further adrift in 19th spot.

South Africa's Dean Burmester, who at 130th is the highest-ranked player in the field, could only produce a score of 73 and he sits well down the leaderboard in a tie for 116th position.
