Rickie Fowler takes Honda Classic lead as Rory McIlroy misses cut

Rickie Fowler takes Honda Classic lead

Rickie Fowler has moved into a one-shot lead at the halfway stage of the Honda Classic in Florida.

The world number five shot a bogey-free four-under-par 66 for the second day in a row to go one clear of fellow American Jimmy Walker at PGA National.

Sergio Garcia, who shared the lead after the first round, is another shot back, with Australian Adam Scott in fourth on five-under.

Rory McIlroy missed the cut for the second year in succession by posting 72 to finish four-over par and miss out on the weekend by a single shot.

America's Jason Bohn withdrew from the tournament after his second round due to chest pains which were later reported as a mild heart attack by the PGA. He is in a stable condition in hospital and will undergo further tests today.
