Kevin Kisner heads RSM Classic after first round

Kevin Kisner has opened up a one-shot lead after the first round of the RSM Classic after recording a score of 65 on Thursday.

The world number 25 hit five birdies and an eagle to establish a slender advantage over a group of eight players, which includes former United States Ryder Cup player Jeff Overton.

Graeme McDowell, who returned to form by winning the OHL Classic in Mexico last week, is four shots off the pace after shooting a round of 69.

The Northern Irishman, who is back up to 62 in the world rankings, made five birdies during the opening day's play at Sea Island.

Brian Davis and Greg Owen - the only two Englishmen in the field - find themselves down in 111th and 150th respectively.
