Jason Dufner takes a one-shot lead at the halfway stage of the CareerBuilder Challenge in California thanks to a second-round 65.

Former US PGA champion Jason Dufner has gone clear at the top of the CareerBuilder Challenge leaderboard thanks to a second-round 65 in California.

Dufner was in a four-way tie for the lead after round one, but has moved into a one-shot lead at the halfway mark following eight birdies and one bogey on the Stadium Course.

Jamie Lovemark, who carded a 65 on the Tournament Course, is Dufner's nearest challenger on 14-under-par, while there is a five-way tie for third at 12-under.

Phil Mickelson was another player to post 65 on the Tournament Course and he will begin round three four behind Dufner on 11-under.
