Hurley III edges ahead at Greenbrier Classic

Billy Hurley III has recorded a second-round 63 to open up a one-shot lead at the halfway stage of the Greenbrier Classic.

The American hit seven birdies during a faultless round on Friday to edge ahead of compatriots Kevin Chappell and Chris Stroud.

Troy Matteson ended the second day's play a shot further adrift in fourth place, with Steve Stricker one of three players in tied fifth.

2014 Masters champion Bubba Watson finished in a tie for sixth position, but first-round leader Jonas Blixt dropped down to 25th after shooting three-over par for his second round.
