Rickie Fowler, Shane Lowry and Hideki Matsuyama have moved into a share of the lead at the Phoenix Open following a weather-disrupted first round in Scottsdale.

Fowler, who won two PGA Tour titles and one European Tour title in 2015, scored two birdies on the front nine and had an inconsistent spell from the midway point.

The American scored a further four birdies and an eagle but dropped a shot on the 16th and 18th holes to end the round with a six-under 65.

Lowry suffered consecutive bogeys on the fifth and sixth holes, but made up for it with eight birdies, while Matsuyama matched the Irishman's score.

The three leaders were able to finish their rounds, but many golfers were unable to complete the course as play was suspended due to darkness.

The trio have a one-shot lead heading into the second round.
