Justin Rose delighted to hit first Olympic hole in one

Great Britain's Justin Rose has described hitting the first ever hole in one at an Olympic golf tournament as a "cool moment".

Rose finished the opening round in a tie for fourth place but his ace on the par-three fourth hole was the stand-out moment from Thursday's play, which ended with Australia's Marcus Fraser as the clubhouse leader.

The 36-year-old told BBC Sport: "There is always an element of luck but you could chalk it up as a good hole in one.

"I won a car that time (his last hole-in-one) but this is definitely better, better bragging rights. When you are the first to do something no-one can take that away from you. That was definitely a cool moment."

Rose and four other players are one shot adrift of second-placed Henrik Stenson and Graham Delaet.
