Jordan Spieth wins Valspar Championship after three-man playoff

Jordan Spieth wins the Valspar Championship after the third playoff hole.

Jordan Spieth has won the Valspar Championship with a 28-foot putt in a three-hole playoff against Sean O'Hair and Patrick Reed.

Reed had the clubhouse lead after a five-under 66 in the final round, with O'Hair later joining him after shooting 67.

Spieth then made it a three-man playoff with a dramatic putt at the last hole which eventually dropped in from 20 feet.

Ryan Moore could have joined the trio, but bogeyed at the last to finish two back.

The trio went back to the 18th for the playoff, where O'Hair fired his tee-shot far right nestling just behind a tree, but he recovered to find the green as Reed put his approach into the sand.

Spieth put himself in pole position with a chip to within 10 feet of the hole, but he missed the putt by inches and the play-off continued at the 16th.

All three players parred the second playoff hole to prolong the tournament even further.

Spieth took victory with a 28-foot putt to win his second PGA Tour title.
