Simpson storms to victory in Vegas

Webb Simpson has closed out a six-shot victory at the Shriners Open in Las Vegas.

The 28-year-old American, who was looking for his first win since last year's US Open, led by four as the players embarked on their final lap of TPC Summerlin.

A five-under round of 66, furnished with six birdies and a bogey, saw him reach 24-under-par and end his wait for a fourth PGA Tour title.

Ryo Ishikawa finished with a flourish, coming home in 65 to finish tied for second on 18-under-par with Jason Bohn.

Simpson's final-round playing partner Chesson Hadley signed for a one-under round of 70, which saw him fall from second to a share for fifth on 16-under.
