Home favourite Adam Scott shoots a third-round 68 to open up a four-shot advantage over Rory McIlroy at the Australian Open.

Adam Scott has opened up a four-shot advantage at the Australian Open after shooting a third-round 68.

The world number two has dominated the tournament since recording a score of 62 on Thursday, and the Australian has given himself a significant advantage over Rory McIlroy going into the final round.

The Northern Irishman hit five birdies on the way to a round of 70 to ensure that he ended Saturday's play with a sizable lead ahead of a group of players in third position.

Richard Green, Matthew Jones and Max McCardle are eight shots adrift, while Jason Day recorded a 66 to move into a top-10 position.
