Reed lifts trophy after playoff success

Patrick Reed has won the Hyundai Tournament of Champions after he beat Jimmy Walker in a playoff to clinch his fourth victory on the PGA Tour.

The 24-year-old holed an 18-foot birdie putt on the first playoff hole to secure the championship, after Walker missed the green with a chip shot.

Reed was four shots behind with four holes to play earlier on, but he scored two birdies and an eagle to level with Walker on 21-under-par.

Reed finished with a six-under-par round of 67, while Walker compiled a four-under-par round of 69 after sinking five birdies on the opening 10 holes but he couldn't manage any on the final eight.

Jason Day equalled the course record with a score of 62 to finish joint third with Russell Henley and Hideki Matsuyama on 20-under-par.
