Patrick Reed seals The Barclays title

Patrick Reed booked a place in the USA Ryder Cup team by winning The Barclays by one shot in New York on Sunday.

The 26-year-old carded a fourth-round 70 to take his overall standings to nine-under-par, while Sean O'Hair and Emiliano Grillo finished one shot behind.

Reed's fellow American Rickie Fowler had the overnight lead heading into the final day, but three bogeys and a double bogey on the 16th hole dropped him to tied seventh in the field.

Fowler needed to finish third to cement a spot in the USA Ryder Cup team, but now his hopes rest on a wildcard pick from Davis Love.

Olympic champion Justin Rose and world number five Rory McIlroy ended the tournament level-par.
