Ben Martin leads Zurich Classic by three shots at halfway stage

Ben Martin enjoyed another successful day at TPC Louisiana to earn a three-shot lead at the halfway stage of the Zurich Classic.

The American, who broke the course record to shoot 10-under-par on day one, impressed the crowd once again in Avondale to post a second-round score of 67.

Martin is closing in on a record finish at the course, with the previous best of 20-under-par appearing to be a realistic possibility for the in-form 26-year-old.

For the second day in a row, Andrew Svoboda is Martin's closest challenger as he kept the pressure on with a round of 68 to finish three shots back.

Noh Seung-Yul and Robert Streb are in a tie for third on 11-under, while Ryder Cup Peter Hanson is one shot further back heading into the weekend.
