Joost Luiten holds out for Wales Open win

Joost Luiten shot a level-par 71 on the final day of the Wales Open, recovering from a shaky start to win the event.

The Dutchman, who was overlooked as a captain's pick for next week's Ryder Cup, came into day three of play with a two-shot advantage in Newport, and he eventually held out to win the trophy with a one-shot lead.

Having opened up with two consecutive bogeys, Luiten recorded three birdies on the back nine and recovered on the 18th to make par for the victory, finishing with a 14-under-par total of 270.

Second place was shared by Tommy Fleetwood of England and Ireland's Shane Lowry, while Ryder Cup participant Jamie Donaldson ended in fourth place with a 12-under-par finish.
