Ross Fisher shoots a six-under 64 to tie for the lead after the first round of the Wyndham Championship in North Carolina.

England's Ross Fisher has played himself into a share of the lead after 18 holes of the Wyndham Championship in Greensboro, North Carolina.

The 32-year-old carded a six-under 64 at Sedgefield Country Club to tie Texan Chris Stroud at the top of the leaderboard.

Sergio Garcia is among a group of eight players on five-under-par, which also includes Robert Garrigus, Jordan Spieth and Trevor Immelman.

Martin Kaymer and Paul Casey went round in an even-par 70, which has them toying with the cut line tomorrow.

Ernie Els (+1) and Padraig Harrington (+3) also need to shoot low if they have any hope of sticking around for the weekend.
