Europe retain Solheim Cup in Colorado

Europe have defeated the United States 18-10 to retain the Solheim Cup in Colorado.

Caroline Hedwall's point was enough to retain the cup before Catriona Matthew's half won secured the win against the Americans.

Carlota Ciganda and Brittany Lang won their respective matches for their teams after Anna Nordqvist had halved her match for the Europeans.

The Europeans needed just 3.5 points from the day's play and they got off to an ideal start when Charley Hull beat Paula Creamer.

The victory is the first time that Europe have won the competition on US soil.
