Ye Wocheng qualifies for China Open

Ye Wocheng has become the youngest golfer to qualify for a European Tour event following an impressive performance at the Volvo China Open on Wednesday.

Ye, who is a member of his local Hillview Golf Club, defied the odds to book one of the three places an offer with a total of 142.

The teenager shot an opening round of 68 on Tuesday, while four birdies on Wednesday meant he led the field on seven-under, before surviving pressure on the back nine.

Guan Tianlang had previously held the record after competing last year as a 13-year-old.
