Tiger Woods injured by 'soft hotel bed'

Tiger Woods blames a soft hotel bed for a back injury he is struggling with ahead of the Barclays at Liberty National in New Jersey.

Tiger Woods is struggling with an injury sustained from a 'soft hotel bed' ahead of the Barclays championship, which gets underway at Liberty National Golf Club in New Jersey tomorrow.

The 37-year-old, who was seen holding his back during the recent US PGA Championships at Oak Hill, was reduced to chipping and putting during the back nine of the pre-tournament pro-am event in Jersey City.

This week marks the first event in the FedEx Cup playoffs, which will see one man walk away with a $10m (£6.3m) cheque at the Tour Championship at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta.

Woods currently tops the list with 3,059 points from his five wins so far, with Matt Kuchar and last year's champion Brandt Snedeker trailing on 2,293 and 2,218 respectively.
