Tiger Woods determined on beating Jack Nicklaus's record

Woods focused on Nicklaus record

Tiger Woods has claimed that he is still focused on breaking Jack Nicklaus's record of 18 major wins.

The former world number one has not won a major tournament since his 2008 US Open triumph but believes that he can still achieve the five more victories needed to eclipse Nicklaus's record.

The 24-year-old said: "It's going to take an entire career to do it and that's something I knew starting out.

"I was lucky enough to have won my first major as a pro (the 1997 Masters) and it's taken me, what, 16 years to get to this point.

"So it's going to take a while. It didn't take Jack overnight to get to 18."

Woods is currently competing in the Honda Classic, his first apperance at the tournament since 1993.
