Tiger Woods ends PGA drought

Woods ends PGA drought

Tiger Woods has ended his 30-month winless streak on the PGA Tour by claiming the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill.

The 36-year-old had led Graeme McDowell by one stroke going into the final round.

After the Northern Irishman had double-bogeyed the first and Woods had claimed back-to-back birdies on holes three and four, the American never looked back and cruised to a five-shot victory.

Woods finished two-under on the day and 13-under overall. McDowell played conservatively and appeared to be playing for second, which he achieved with a two-over final 18.

Ian Poulter also carded a two-over round to finish third on six-under.

The former world number one has now won the Orlando event seven times.
