Lee Westwood pulls out of three big upcoming tournaments because of fatigue and to prepare for next month's Open Championship.

Lee Westwood has withdrawn from the upcoming Irish Open, French Open and Scottish Open ahead of next month's Open Championship.

The Englishman, ranked 12 in the world, said that he was tired and wanted to prepare for the 142nd Open at Muirfield which takes place July 18-21.

"A long run of events has left me fatigued and with The Open so close I have decided to get myself into the best possible condition," said the 40-year-old.

He is still searching for his first Major title after finishing tied-15th at the recent US Open, won by fellow Englishman Justin Rose.
