The 27-year-old American won his first PGA Tour title on Sunday thanks to a two-shot triumph at Palm Beach Gardens.

"This week was magical," said Thompson. "I had a groove, kept feeling it and kept believing. All in all, it was just a wonderful experience."

Australia's Geoff Ogilvy finished the tournament in second place, while Luke Guthrie ended two shots further back having shared the lead overnight with fellow countryman Thompson.
