Jordan Spieth gets the call from American Presidents Cup captain Fred Couples ahead of next month's match in Ohio.

Fred Couples has picked Jordan Spieth and Webb Simpson as his wild cards for next month's Presidents Cup in Ohio.

The 53-year-old American, who is captaining his country for the third time in a row, ultimately decided against selecting Jim Furyk and Dustin Johnson, who were also vying for a spot on his team.

Meanwhile, Nick Price - taking over duties from Greg Norman - has chosen fellow Zimbabwean Brendon de Jonge and Australia's Marc Leishman as his two picks.

The International team have won only one of the previous nine matches, which came at Royal Melbourne in 1998.
