Brandt Snedeker taking confidence from Open display

Snedeker wants to continue form

Brandt Snedeker has insisted that he is ready to return to action after his disappointment at the Open Championship.

The American was the leader heading into the final round but failed to secure his first major victory, with Ernie Els lifting the Claret Jug.

Snedeker said: "Obviously after last week my game is pretty close to being where it needs to be to win a golf tournament. So I have pretty high expectations this week."

The 31-year-old will be competing at the Canadian Open this week and has been full of praise for the tournament.

"We don't get to play too many traditional golf courses like this. It's going to be really tough, going to challenge every club in the bag," the right-handed player added.

Snedeker has won four times on the PGA Tour in his career.
