Vijay Singh takes Greenbrier Classic lead

Vijay Singh has opened up a one-shot lead after the first day of the Greenbrier Classic in West Virginia.

Eight birdies helped the Fijian card a round of 63 to put himself on seven-under-par overall at White Sulphur Springs.

American Jeff Maggert was one of three players who ended a shot further back after the opening round, while JB Holmes took a share of third on five-under.

A double-bogey on the 17th gave Tiger Woods a one-over round of 71 with fellow countrymen Phil Mickelson and Dustin Johnson.
